Medicinal products
Since time immemorial, the Itzá Maya people have used the knowledge of medicinal plants to care for the health of their community. Bioitzá has recovered and strengthened this heritage, creating products that combine tradition and science to offer natural and sustainable solutions.
Recovery of knowledge
In 1993, a first initiative was established to preserve and revalue medicinal plants. This effort was resumed in 2014, with the creation of a botanical garden at our administrative headquarters in San José, Petén. Women and young people from the community have joined together to cultivate, harvest and transform these plants into products such as shampoos, soaps, oils and creams, all made with natural ingredients and sustainable processes.
Each product reflects the deep respect for nature and traditional knowledge passed down from generation to generation, ensuring its quality and effectiveness.
